SEPTUM DISSECTION

SEPTUM DISSECTION

One of the surgical corrections for a uterine septum is septum dissection, also referred to as septoplasty. The condition may cause recurrent miscarriages, preterm labor, or infertility. Through the use of a hysteroscope introduced via the vagina and cervix, the procedure allows visualization and subsequent removal of the septum, therefore restoring a normal uterine cavity. Septum dissection is a minimally invasive procedure, usually performed on an outpatient basis, for the improvement of reproductive outcome and general uterine health. This would give a better chance of successful pregnancies by providing a properly shaped uterine cavity for embryo implantation andĀ development.
